Never Have I Ever. U.S. Netflix

Season 2 two of this fun teen show finds Devi’s mom planning to move back to India, where she feels that she’ll have built-in support group to help her grieve over the loss of her husband. Meanwhile, Devi ends up dating two very different guys at the same time; she plans to ditch them both when she leaves the U.S.  Kamala, Devi’s cousin, gets a seemingly dream internship while getting to know the man who might become her husband. But of course things don’t work out, and Devi, her cousin Kamala, and even her mom learn from the uneven roads of their experiences. Another stellar season of a richly diverse comic look at high school as seen through the eyes of an Indian girl and narrated by John McEnroe and Gigi Hadid — another Mindy Kaling winner. Makes me nostalgic for my teaching days. 💕 🎥🎥🎥🎥

Summer of Soul. US. Hulu

What a gem this is from Philly native Questlove. The summer of 1969 was the summer of Woodstock, but it was also the summer of the Harlem Cultural Festival, which was recorded but never made into any kind of film. Footage from six different concerts were put together along with commentary from some of the performers to create a fascinating documentary. Excellent performances along with interesting commentary provide a timely glimpse into the past. 🎥🎥🎥🎥
