A Confession. UK. BritBox

We found this intriguing show while checking out something to watch after finishing New Tricks. Based on a true story, this excellent cast does a fine job of bringing to life a complex case and a policeman’s decision. When good girl Sian O’Callaghan disappears one evening on her way home from a pub, Detective Superintendent Steve Fulcher and his team work to find the girl. As he closes in on a viable suspect, Fulcher makes a decision that has far-reaching ramifications even though it gets him the culprit. There’s another girl, not so good, whose habitual running away results in a less-strenuous search for her;  both these cases end up being connected. The family dynamics of both girls are so well characterized — we feel their pain. Excellent show. 🎥🎥🎥🎥
